Top-ranked Sabalenka Wins Consecutive WTA Top Player Awards.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive year.
The 27-year-old secured four titles – the most on tour – including retaining the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles title.
A Year of Consistency
Across the season, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine finals, with defeats coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The Belarusian also won the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She remained the whole season as the top-ranked player, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.
This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Record-Breaking Achievements
Sabalenka finished the season with a 63-12 match record, and picked up a record £11m in prize money.
She earned almost 80% of the votes submitted by international tennis media.
Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "elevate women's tennis to a new level".
