Barça to Host Inaugural Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. The club said recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Barça organized a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou in early November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization by UEFA to host the next European match facing Eintracht in December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
